The 6″ Screw-in Ring Insulator is made with a heavy screw as its base and a continuous steel reinforced ring. This insulator is strong enough to hold in old locust posts or in the softwood of telephone poles. The wire, which is held 6 inches away from the post, is easy to install and remove but is unlikely to come off at other times.
