Eye Protection

CSA/UL-approved safety goggles, glasses, or face shields protect the eyes from sparks, debris, and pressure waves generated during pyrotechnic deployment. Because the eyes are highly vulnerable to blast and projectile hazards, eye protection is mandatory PPE for all pyrotechnic operations.

Hearing Protection

Pyrotechnic devices produce extremely high noise levels that can cause immediate or cumulative hearing damage. CSA/UL-approved ear plugs or ear muffs with a high Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) - preferably 30 dB or greater - should be worn during deployment. For prolonged exposure, both ear plugs and ear muffs may be required.

Hand Protection

Hands are frequently exposed to heat, sparks, debris, and sharp edges when handling pyrotechnic devices and launch equipment. Durable protective gloves help prevent burns, abrasions, and cuts while improving grip and control during loading and deployment.

High-Visibility Attire

A high-visibility safety vest or jacket ensures operators remain visible to team members, vehicles, and nearby personnel during pyrotechnic deployment. This is especially important in low-light conditions or active work environments, helping maintain situational awareness and safe coordination among the team.
