This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information and device data are collected, stored, and used when you download, install, and use the Margo Controls mobile application (the “App”) provided by Margo Supplies Ltd.
PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
To operate the App and allow it to interface with our hardware products, we must request certain permissions and collect specific information from the device you are using.
Device & Diagnostic Information:
While the App does not actively track you, the platforms used to build and distribute the App (such as the Google Play Store) automatically collect diagnostic, performance, and usage information. This includes information about your mobile device, such as your operating system version, device model, and crash logs (e.g., via Google Play’s Android Vitals). This information is collected by these third-party platforms to diagnose technical issues and monitor the App’s stability.
Hardware & Connectivity Data:
Because Margo Controls is designed to manage, configure, and retrieve data from Margo Supplies hardware (such as the Margo Scout and the Margo programmer), the App requires specific system permissions:
Location Permissions: The App accesses your location to automatically generate and assign GPS coordinates to specific hardware devices, such as the Margo Scout, during setup and configuration. Additionally, on certain mobile operating systems, scanning for nearby Bluetooth devices inherently requires location permissions to be granted by the user.
Bluetooth / Nearby Devices: Required to detect, connect to, and communicate with local Margo Supplies hardware via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
We use the information and permissions granted within the App strictly to:
- Facilitate secure connections between your mobile device and Margo Supplies hardware.
- Automatically generate geographic coordinates for device configuration.
- Allow you to configure hardware settings and execute commands.
- Identify and fix technical bugs within the App using third-party crash reports.
(Note: If you make purchases through the Margo Supplies website, those transactions are governed by our separate Website Privacy Policy, as the App itself does not process transactions or store billing information).
SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
We do not sell, share, or otherwise distribute your personal information to any third parties beyond what is minimally required to operate the App, connect to our hardware, and analyze technical stability via app distribution platforms (like Google Play).
We sell many regulated products. As such, we may be required to share some of your Personal Information to comply with legal requirements and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful request we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights. By using our site, you acknowledge that Margo Supplies retains the right to share your Personal Information with law enforcement agencies.
YOUR RIGHTS
European Residents have the right to access their Personal Information and ask that information be corrected, updated, or deleted. Please contact us through the “Contact Page” on our website (margosupplies.com) to exercise this right.
Additionally, European residents are advised that we process your information in order to fulfill the core functional requirements of the App, or in other legitimate business interests listed above. Please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States.
MINORS
The App is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.
CHANGES
This privacy policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to our mobile practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
